![]() Punctures It is not always necessary to replace a tyre when punctured. In some cases the tyre can be repaired. However, we advise that you get the tyre inspected by one of our Tyre Fitters. If you have any questions regarding this, please call us for advice. Do not drive a car with a punctured tyre before getting professional advice. Tyre Pressures It is important to regularly check your tyre pressures meet manufactures recommendations, especially before a long journey. Remember to only check your tyres when they are cool. This is because air in tyres warm up quickly when being driven,, creating a higher air pressure. Too low a pressure can result in uneven wear on the tyre's shoulder tyre. The result is heat build up and consequent blow out of the tyre, with sometimes disastrous results. Too high a pressure results in uneven wear around the centre of the tread. With less contact on the road it makes wheel spin and skidding more likely, accelerating wear in the high pressure contact area. The car will have very light steering and in some situations it will be over-responsive to steering input and have a propensity to skid. Knowing your tyre You may wish to know what size tyre you have for replacement. You can get the tyre's size by reading the sidewall.
